Work Study

Federal work study is available if you who have demonstrated financial need as determined by your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (). Federal work study employers include campus departments and approved off-campus nonprofit agencies. You are responsible for securing employment ³ûÖÊÓƵ and working scheduled hours to earn federal work-study funds. You are automatically considered for federal work-study by filing a FAFSA each year.

Federal Work Study provides part-time jobs for undergraduate, graduate, and professional students with financial needs, allowing them to earn money.

  • The program encourages community service work and work related to your course of study
  • We determine award amounts on the basis of financial need from the FAFSA
  • The maximum FWS award varies each academic year
  • Limited funding, so not all students qualify; file the FAFSA as soon as it is available, which is typically no earlier than October 1
  • Must be in a degree-seeking program
  • All student positions require current enrollment
  • A student normally can work 12 to 13 hours per week depending upon funding and pay rate
