֭Ƶ’s Petree College of Arts and Sciences will showcase artist Katherine Liontas-Warren at an open house and reception at the Nona Jean Hulsey Gallery from 1 to 4 p.m. Aug. 21 on N.W. 26th St., south of Florida Ave. The event will include an artist talk, faculty demonstrations and complimentary shaved ice, all of which is open to the public.
Liontas-Warren has been an Oklahoma resident for more than 30 years. She was awarded the Oklahoma Governor’s Art and Education Award at the state capitol in 2014 and has been named Artist of the Year by the Paseo Arts Association.
“This will be the first of several events scheduled throughout the year to bring artists and the local community together into this vibrant and creative space,” said Amy Cataldi, interim dean of the Petree College of Arts and Sciences. “This series of offerings is in keeping with the Norick and Hulsey family traditions of extending the audience for art. Located in the heart of a city that both appreciates and recognizes the importance of engagement with the arts, ֭Ƶ opens the doors to our neighbors as we kick off our schedule of dynamic art presentations.”
