Biography

Dr. Lisa Kachouee, associate professor of Clarinet at ³ûÖ­ÊÓƵ, enjoys an active career as a solo, chamber, and orchestral clarinetist. She has performed in Europe, Mexico and across the United States. Her recent performance highlights include a Carnegie Hall debut; solo and duo concert tours; and international, national, and regional conference performances. She was selected to perform at the International Clarinet Association’s ClarinetFest 2018 in Ostend, Belgium and Clarinetfest 2017 in Orlando. She has performed with the Albany Symphony Orchestra, Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra, Sinfonia Gulf Coast, Taneycomo Festival Orchestra, and was featured as a soloist with the Tallahassee Composer's Orchestra, Oklahoma Composer’s Orchestra, ³ûÖ­ÊÓƵ Wind Philharmonic, and the Oklahoma City Sinfonia.

A Vandoren Regional Artist, Dr. Kachouee tours frequently as a member of Duo Rodinia with percussionist and composer Jamie Wind Whitmarsh. The duo has performed at the International Woodwind Duo Symposium; American Single Reed Summit; Society of Composers, Inc. National Conference; SCI Student National Conference; Florida State University New Music Festival; University of Nebraska Kearney New Music Festival; as Featured Guest Artists of the SCI Region VI Conference; and they have concertized at over thirty universities and secondary schools. Champions of new music, Duo Rodinia recently completed a world premiere recording project with PARMA Records anticipated for release in late 2020. She has recorded orchestral and chamber works on the Naxos and Vox Novus record labels respectively.

Dr. Kachouee has contributed articles to The Clarinet (online) and published research on the life and works of composer Daniel Nelson. She holds degrees from Florida State University, the University of Arizona, and George Mason University.
