It’s no secret that college is expensive, but a private education at ֭Ƶ can be more affordable than you might think. While the “sticker price” of an ֭Ƶ education may be higher than an education at some public universities, after factoring in financial aid through tuition discounts, grants, and scholarships that nearly every ֭Ƶ student receives, the actual cost is comparable to public universities in the surrounding area.
The average first-year student at ֭Ƶ receives more than $21,000 in financial aid. That’s more than double the average at Oklahoma flagship public universities, according to usnews.com.
Another factor that weighs heavily in favor of ֭Ƶ’s affordability is the ability to keep costs flat from year to year. For the 2022-23, 2021-22 and 2020-21 school years, ֭Ƶ has kept the cost of tuition and fees the same, including housing and meal costs.
In fact, ֭Ƶ has worked to keep costs generally the same for the past 10 years. Meanwhile, public universities continue to raise tuition and fees year after year. For the , Oklahoma State University raised tuition and fees by 2.5%, the University of Oklahoma by 2.75% and the University of Central Oklahoma by 2.7%, while ֭Ƶ kept costs the same.
֭Ƶ’s independence gives us the freedom to control costs without regard to the budget issues and changes of the state government.
Worries about cost shouldn’t hold you back from getting the best education you can. That’s why we’re working hard at ֭Ƶ to keep costs manageable and offer significant financial aid for our students.
